There are 2 types as well, a true slanted pickup housing (think Dingwall) and a regular J pickup in a slanted position........
Could you expound on this a bit?

Why sure:
1) Housing, depending on whether it is a single scale or multi scale, the pickups do take on a much longer area, than a single scale, which for the most part, do not take on much "tilt".
2) There are some basses out there that have housings, where the narrow edges are parallel with the string path and not following the typical "rectangular" shape....of a typical "j" or "soapbar" Pickup
This isn't a j but it sure is slanty.
