Slapping on Tapewounds

I have an acoustic bass but no amp.. can i slap on tapewound strings? I feel that they dont sound right when slapping, but im not much of a slapper anyway

Also can you tap on them? When i do it it sounds terrible maybe my action is too high

Wrong instrument for slapping in the modern sense of slap. You can pluck the strings so the slap against the fretboard & add a percussive effect, but that's about it

Slapping on tapewounds can sound fantastic. Kinda a funky rubbery sound.



But like styleovershow said, the acoustic is the wrong bass for it.
