Sleeping habits

Earlier this year (actually starting last December) I was substitute teaching and bartending. I was pretty good about not scheduling a sub day after a bartending shift, but when money got tight I was subbing every day and picking up any extra shifts at the bar. It got to where I would come home around 4 and sleep for two hours and then do whatever I needed to do before heading out to the bar. I'd get home and be asleep by 3 and sleep for 3 hours.

It's very weird when you are always waking up and not quite knowing if it's morning or evening.

Also, I've been an insomniac since my early teens. Serious insomnia to the point of being put on some pretty gnarly sleeping pills. These days if I get a prescription it's Ambien, which works but I really don't like taking. But when insomnia really hits, I have no choice.

I would have a messed up schedule like that, but school and work keep me from sleeping in, so Iif I have a problem, its that I can't fall asleep until a few hours before its time to get up. Then its coffee by the gallon hich keeps me up the next night.

Had a couple kinds of pills, and i'm not thrilled with what they'll actually prescribe. I feel worse the next day than if I just hadn't slept. And the ones that work don't get prescribed.

Been there, done that.

+1 on the Melatonin. IME, start on an evening when you don't have to get up for work or some other appointment.

IME, ignore the suggested dosage on the bottle. Try 25% of what's recommended, then see how it works and how you feel in the morning. If that works great, if not, try 50% and so forth. I tried the bottle suggested dosage and was all dopey the next day for a few hours.

If you're waking up every few hours, IMO, I suggest a "sleep study". Your doctor can refer you. You may have sleep apnea. Also, have a complete blood work up done because things like thyroid problems can cause similar issues.

Sleep disorders are serious issues and have long term effect on your brain including memory problems, heart problems, diabetes and a bunch of other stuff. Also, I found that my thinking processes get really messed up and it's as if I've lost about 20 IQ points.

If your sleep disorders go on for more than a couple of nights, it's time to start learning more and doing more to get a decent night's sleep. Gotta start now. Don't wait.

Sleeping habits? Mine is more close to insomnia, sometimes I die to sleep,I go to bed and it takes 1-3 hours to fallasleep, then I wake up 1 hour later due to alarm clock.
Or arbitrary jumpings(?) of my body out of control. I hit my head to the wall really hard several times during that jumps. And my leg trying to get away from my body, that too lol.

I remember having weeks sleeping for 2-3 hours a day,in the end of friday I became a zombie.I lost a friend because of that.My constant shakings and meaningless talking scared her.:hmm:
My character changed seriously,I could bite you if you touched me.Now? I just want to sleep.:crying:
