Ugh, having these sleeping habits are pain. Some days I go to bed at 12 and wake up at a normal time, other days I go to bed at 5 am and wake up at 2 in the afternoon, like today. Anyone else have problems like this?

I'm an insomniac and it kills me. I just stay up and listen to Daft Punk all night because there's no hope in trying to sleep
A real job keeps me from having weird sleeping habits like that.

It depends on your lifestyle, i work 9a-6p so i got my sleeping pattern around that, a friend of mine works 3p-11p, so i rarely see him. get a full time job and get a pattern bassed around that.
Try going to bed at a set time every day. Do not stray from this for at least a week. Lights out means lights out. TV off, computer off, etc. and just try to go to sleep. After a while, it will become second nature.
Melatonin is cheap, in the herbal section, and will MAKE you have a regular sleep pattern. Try it.
I need to look into that. I've been downing Tylenol PM to keep my schedule semi-regular and wake up for my 9 or 10 am job...

I've taken melatonin from time to time, and find that it works quite well in getting my sleep cycle back in sync. However, I seem to have a higher incidence of intense, whacked-out dreams when I take it.
