Small amp search

So i'm in this position where I need to invest in a small amp, primarily for solo practicing, but i'd love it if I could use it for small gigging situations as well. So far the Shuttle 3.0 10" has caught my eye (ears?), though it's a bit pricey for such a small unit. I tried one today but the 10" cabinet had an issue with it's 1/4 jack, so I played it through the 12". I really liked the tone with my fretless and if I could find one used i'd probably jump on it.

Any other suggestions for a small setup that would be comparable? I live quite rurally, so I don't get a chance to check stores very often. I'd like to keep my investment under five bills. Thanks for your input!

I'm in the same boat. I like the Shuttle 3.0/10T a lot, but the one I tried had a lot of hiss.

Ibanez may not be known for their bass amps, but a lot of folks seem to like the Promethean:

It's a shame they're so difficult to find (at least here in the UK). You'd think Ibanez could get it into a few more shops.
