Small amp speaker upgrade

I've been doing alot of "acoustic" gigs lately, and have been using small guitar amps:hiding: I hate the response of my ss amp(usually use an SVT CL), and my Bugera V5 tube amp sounds pretty good with bass. But, the speaker sucks. I wanted to put in a Jensen Mod 8. I know many of you have put the 10's in their 810's, but anyone had any experience with these speakers in smaller amps?

No experience, but that doesn't sound like it would sound like you'd like... ;)

I'd expect an 8" speaker to sound like an 8" speaker (unless it's some fancy new speaker, and even then... Is that a closed back combo? Does it have a speaker output? Maybe running out of that 5 watt tube amp into a decent little bass speaker cabinet might work for you for acoustic gigs?
