Double Bass Small combo that can reach 120db

I am looking for a combo that can be really loud and that weighs around 15kg....any ideas? Thanks

If you don't need all the fancy electronics, I think the Rumble 800 combo (without the "Stage") weighs about 10 pounds less. I'm also wondering if the Rumble 500 might meet your volume needs.

I don't need all the amps models etc...so no stage version of the Rumble.Also,I see the 500w version is heavier than the Rumble800 which is strange..
But I dont see any db measurements for these amps...or max Spl...do you know?
 
There are older designs of the Rumble and newer. The newer are a lot lighter, probably using a neodymium magnet in the driver.

I played a Rumble 40 with a Stagg EUB at a friends wedding reception (all his stuff) and it could get a lot louder than I had expected. Sound was not very neutral, but useable with EQ. It is a really light combo.

I like my Genz Benz Shuttle combo better, but for the money he paid for it (about 33% off) there is nothing to complain.

I know, that's my first choice...but I want to check out other options as well.Also, even the 800w version doesn't go beyond 117db...
Also does anyone know what the input impedance is on these combos? Thanks

The use of the term db by itself is meaningless. It is not a unit of measurement, but used only for comparison.
For example: Speaker A has an SPL of 96, and speaker B is 99. You would then say that speaker B is 3 db higher than A. You compared one to the other.

For db to be a meaningful measurement it needs to have a qualifier, something to compare with.

In this case, I think you mean to say 120 dbSPL. SPL is the qualifier.
This is still a comparison, but it tells what the combination of speaker SPL plus the amplifier gain (above 1 Watt) will be compared to the speaker measured with 1 Watt at a distance of one meter.

Now you can take your two speakers from above and know how much amplifier gain is needed to reach 120 dbSPL. 120 - 99 = 21 and 120 - 96 = 24. Speaker A needs 3db more power (twice the power) than speaker B, to achieve the same loudness.

SPL and references to db are not often listed because it is a concept that most don't understand. Heck most of us don't understand Watts in the context of amplifiers, but we have at least heard of the term, such as with light bulbs and such, so manufacturers have keyed in on what we want to hear.

The calculator cited earlier is useful if you know the speakers rated SPL. Without that information you are missing a key piece of the puzzle. Another nice feature of this calculator is that it will adjust the SPL for distances other than 1 meter. dbSPL is only valid at a distance of 1 meter. Now you can compare how loud you will be out in the audience compared to standing right in front of your amp.
 
Yes I understand speaker sensitivity. A few posts above I say that the GR bass acoustic cube has a speaker sensitivity of 98db.I also know the rule that a 3db increase means that the power of the amp needs to double.
I am saying 120 db because I often have to cover pretty big bars ,clubs etc with no PA.( That's often the case here in Greece). I think if the speaker and amp can reach 120db then I can safely play at 114-116 which is often how loud some of the bands I play with can get.
