I need to find a decent amp with a CD input and out for head phones. I would also like to use it for small gigs. I have a SWR 750 workingpro head for bigger gigs and a SWR 200 watt combo for med, size gigs. But now we are playing at some coffee shops and such, I tried a little Ibanez 35 watt amp it just didnt have it. I dont want to spend a lot of money on one either. Iam thinking of a Peavey Max 12 are SWR LA. I thought about the Roland cube 100 Little more then I need but know CD input for home. I would like to here your thoughts and your suggestions. I blew the speaker in the Ibanez and didnt even have it crank so we put a carvin 10 in it and it help but know bottom.

I've been very satisfied with my Ampeg BA115HP and have used it for small-med. sized venues for years. It has a good built-in tuner, DI out and cd-in and headph out jacks. A bit on the heavy side but has good handles on top and sides and came with removable casters. I have probably used it more than any of my other amps/cabs since I got it.

SWR Workingman's 10 or 12 come to mind but alas no CD in I think. In any event, more robust than the LA. They're lifetime equipment (I own them both).

Three years ago, I bought a Roland 100 Cube for practice only. I had a very small gig to do that a practice amp would have been perfect for. I brought the cube. I quickly realized that I could use it in a bit bigger venue. I started leaving the Markbass rig behind more and more.

On its own, it sounds compressed when opened up. In a band setting, it's great. Very important to place it on the floor to get bottom end.

FWIW, I've taken the Roland to a gig, along with my bigger rig, using the Cube as a PA speaker. We ran a small 6 channel Nady board into the amp. The amp has reverb and delay. It was perfect.

I've had all kinds of gear and that little amp is impressive. Small, light, extremely well built, versatile.

Lately, I've stacked it on an SWR 1-15 and ran a line out into the Markbass head. I use the SWR setting on the Roland and run my Sadowsky through it. VERY nice.

It's good kit. I'm sure there are lots of other good choices. I'm impresssed with this.

Since You're obviously a SWR guy, those would be logical choices.

On the WM10 at least, You can plug an signal source such as CD or mp3 player into effects return (mono, obviously) and control the level with the effects blend.

The new Fender Bassmans are nice; line out, RCAs in, headphone out, effects loop, tuner out. Pretty loud and clean in a small, reasonably light unit.

I've used both actives, passives and an upright through it (100 watt) and no one has been disappointed by the sound or volume.
