One of the biggest destructive antics involved Ritchie Blackmore. They were the closers for the California Jam in 1974. The day ran ahead of schedule, meaning Deep Purple was to go on in twilight rather than night. Blackmore insisted it had to be dark for all their lighting effects to show up. He throws a tantrum and refuses to leave the dressing room. Sheriffs are called to arrest him for breach of contract. He goes on, they play their set, and at the end, he knocks over an amp stack, climbs a PA tower, and knocks over some more stuff. In the chaos of sparks, smoke, and fire, the Deep Purple helicopter swoops in, picks him up Jack Bauer style and off he goes. Gotta be the best exit in rock history.
So unless you can beat that (no pun intended), why bother as it's all been done before!
