Snap, Crackle, Pop in my PA

I am running phantom power for the rhythm guitarist acoustic. I changed his 57 to a 58 I had and the issue was still there.

If the noise follows the guitarist, I would suspect his sm57 is the problem. Are you running phantom power for someone else?

Already tried different mics.

Hi, not sure if you've tried different mixing desks, but I've had a similar experience with the snap, crackle and pop sounds. I isolated it down to the aux sends on the desk and brought it to a tech and some chips were faulty in the console.

would have to be the guitar amp crackling i'd think at this point. if yer guitarist has a back up amp, try that.

That's what I said. He said he doesn't hear it from the amp but I'm betting he doesn't place his ear as close to the guitar speaker as he sets the mic.

I have found the problem to be somewhere between the XLR input on the board for Channel 6 and the Hosa patch bay in the PA rack.

When I plug into the 1/4 input on that channel, works perfect. So it's in the XLR section.

Low AC has led to 'situations' in some older places I've played that did have an effect on my wireless with some weird popping. Have someone experienced check out outlet voltage.

I had similar problem recently. Turned out the snap crackle noise was coming from the auxes on the desk. When you don't use desk the noise goes and will come back soon enough. I brought desk to a tech and it turned out to be faulty ribbon cable, dampness had gotten into cable. Check every input and output. It could also be to do with phantom power.
