One of the Six Flags parks had a ride that ripped a girls' legs off a couple of years back. I wonder why we've never heard about any follow up on that.

Bard2dbone, that Six Flags where her legs got cut off was the one in Louisville, where I live. That park is now closed, and that is one of the reasons why.

well, the onus really being on the owners / operators of the park, I'd say it's not so much a horror movie gore scene as a negligent homicide scene. But the people in the "negligent" seats rarely get more than a slap on the wrist. But hey, what do you expect from seasonal minimum wage summer help? a cheap uniform and hat does not a good decision maker make.

The Engineers design bigger and crazier thrills then once the design is done, the park designers undermine it by implementing the cheapest safeguards around the attractions.

Agreed, but the negligent homicides/injuries, sure as hell, are horrifying and gory

This was hubris in the literal sense on the vet's part and gross negligence on the part of the park staff. An unecessary tragedy, for sure.

There was a guy with no legs that insisted on riding the biggest Roller Coaster in the park even though park staff advised against it. He fell out and died.

Yeah. This is the sick world we live in.

Well, nothing really surprises me on US legal system, but if the rules are written like they're supposed to, a slim chance of that.

IMO, Not that slim of a chance...given the sleaziest of lawyers, this could have easily dragged on into a year-long publicity stunt of a trial that ended in a large settlement just to make the whole thing go away. No matter how blatantly obviously right the park would have been
