So called "friends"

I like how certain people I know label me as their "friend", but they never call me, email me or even try to get in contact with me. It's always me starting things, so I've basically blocked all contact with a few people now.

Anyone else gone through stuff like this?

Going through this now, it sucks considering we're in the same class. We used to be "best friends" (one of them at least) but now we don't talk at all.

:atoz:

My best friend for like 20 years hasn't called me for as long as I can remember.
I've always got to initiate. I moved once and he never came to my new house, didn't come to my 40th birthday, etc, etc.

He's dead to me now:rollno:
This is a good thread, as it actually reveals something about ourselves and what to do about it (..(i.e.) "dealing" without going a little insane!). I actually did the right thing after high school.. I left the area where I grew up and walked away from most of the friends I made during that period.. Now if ONLY I'd taken that lesson to heart in all the following situations I'd have saved myself alot of grief! No friends left from the military, none from college, none from previous jobs.. thats just human nature I suppose, and it took me YEARS of frustration to finally realize to 'let go' of "life-long" :rollno: relationships MUCH more quickly as soon as I start seeing the telltale signs of disinterest in other people ("friends"). Now its getting easier and easier to simply walk away with no regrets and no guilt either. What a drag it took so long to understand this about people..
