So how much do Wal basses go for?

Wal 1979 Pro II E Active, Ash body, Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard, Black Finish, Black Pickguard, Fretless with Lines and dots, Chrome Hardware, Old Fender Case
From Bass Exchange website asking $3199.

I actually called about that bass already. The truss rod is dead and the neck is hopelessly bowed. The salesman I spoke to said it was unplayable in the condition it's in now.

I dont like geddys playing in that vid, and yes that rather does sound like a ric!

I don't know how much wals go for tho, but I know i will never want one. I think they are ugly and their tone isn't all that specal
That's what I thought until I needed a fretless and the Nottinghill Record and Tape Exchange had a fretless WAL. This was in 1994 and I paid 460 pounds for it. The finish on it is amazing and the sound is mesmerising. 2 weeks ago one of my clients offered me $15,000 for it. I declined. The old ones are going for a fortune now. A worthy investment.

I frequented that store, at that time (actually all of their stores, but mostly for vinyl & vhs tapes).

Damn! I missed that one - although to be honest, if I'd seen it I would have been too cheap to pay that high a price, and would rather have got a Rickenbacker 4001 / Gibson Grabber for the same money....

But damn! 😲
