So I have to unload one head.. Which would YOU keep??

I have two heads.. Neither get a huge amount of playing time anymore due to solid club back lines I am good with.. I really can use the $$ but I am on the fence with which one to sell and which to keep..

I will preface this with I know opinions vary, and each to his own, but if you HAD to pick one for coolness, rarity, etc, what say you? Also, both are in wonderful, 100% working order.

1) Vintage Acoustic 270 head.

2) Peavey T-Max head 2 channel, tube and SS.. Incidentally I also have the 2x10 cabinet that goes with it.. I generally just used the head..

I am torn, as I liked and used both.. I figure I should keep one in a pinch.. And the 10's would work with either..

Any insight in making this decision would be stellar..

I'd keep the Peavey. With 2 channels it sounds like it's more versatile. You also may get a better selling price for the Acoustic but I'm not sure what the market is for vintage amps.

When I've truly been on the fence with two pieces of gear I sell the one that I know will net more cash.

Sell the Peavey and keep the Acoustic. Their gear kicks a$$ and lasts forever.

That sounds like the better idea to me as getting another one of those Acoustic in good working condition seems like it would be more difficult. Not that it would be that easy to find the Peavey either but I doubt it is such a unique amp you couldn't find something similar.

Put them both up for sale in the classifieds and keep the one that doesn't sell first.

A Peavey T Max, especially in 100% working condition, is worth it's weight in "something valuable." That is a lot ! In all honesty, I am beginning to question selling anything that can't easily be replaced. One day my kids will probably be happy for that: As they sell it all. ;-) Nonetheless, My T Max will always be with me. I rarely gig with it anymore, but it stays.
