So I scored a vintage Mosrite...

I have come across what appears to be a 1971 Mosrite bass. The neck has been removed, it needs a new nut and some fretwork, has some finish checking, but otherwise seems to be in good shape. The serial number is AB0083 (the A is actually an upside down V).

I'm going to put this thing together and see if what I can make of it. What I'm curious about is what model this might be, and what it might be worth. Anybody here have any ideas?

Upon further research, it seems to be a 300 series a 1974... but it's most likely a custom job, or a transition piece. Apparently the 300 series bass had a single pickup and was set for mono, and the 350 series had two pickups and was a stereo bass. This one has two pickups but only one output jack. Hmm...

Shouldn't require a second jack; probably (I think) just requires a Stereo cord or maybe it'll work with a standard cord.

My Dillion is as close as I will get to the real deal. Nice score. Is it full or short scale?

Rickenbackers have both a mono jack and a stereo jack, both are needed as if you only have a stereo jack you'll only get one pickup with a normal mono cord, you'd always have to play them stereo which is more trouble than it's worth. I'm sure those were the same as Mosrite and Ric had a connection somewhere. I think Mosley used to work for Rickenbacker, not positive though.
