So ummm...Rob Ford

Wuuut?!?

Sure Weiner is a scumbag for cyber cheating on his wife, but I'd say being drunk constantly and smoking crack is a lot worse than sending a poorly composed selfie.

Ah I cant stand Anthony Weiner... it was not so much "a" selfie, IMO it was a whole pattern of behavior.

The way I look at it is that once a politician has reached the level of "public douchebag", how they got there is irrelevant. No community needs a public fool representing them.. :rollno:

Agreed. But smoking crack is enough to get the average guy either canned, demoted, or at least placed in rehab if the company has an EAP. He shows no remorse and has no intention of stepping down.

I gotta admit, he's headstrong.

The pattern of behavior by Weiner is distressing. Someone in the public eye gets caught, steps down, then re-inserts himself back into the spotlight while continuing the behavior. He should've named himself Carlos Poorchoice.

And it makes me think...

Why is it OK for a public official to behave in a way that is deemed not acceptable socially by most of the rest?

When the clowns in the big domed building were having late sessions, it was reported that most of them wreaked of booze when they were exiting the chamber. Whenit was reported, it was done with a big smile like "isn't that funny?"

Being drunk at work is usually only acceptable during a Christmas party or other function, but not during regular work time. It wasn't anywhere I worked.

Dang that dude is fat.

It is more than just the crack and drinking at this point. The coverup trying to get rid of the video, the threats of murder, someone was actually killed ect. I can't even keep track of it all. Not to mention the super off colour remarks that he makes. It all makes Weiner look like princess

lowsound

The worst part about all this is these scumbag politicians are getting all this media attention and the impression it leaves with young people just learning about civics and governance. Not a very good example for the youth.

Perhaps a few of the teamsters could pay Mr. Ford a friendly visit on behalf of FoMoCo and stress the importance of not besmerching the good name of the Ford Motor Co.

Whatl a load. Other than his crack habit, the people of T.O. Seem happy with his admin up to the point that this all came out in May. Even up til he admitted being a drunken crackhead.

But, now that it's out, trust is lost. It doesn't mean he couldn't do the job. Having a food addiction is a separate issue and to equate that with fiscal acumen is just weak.

From a poll I saw, the majority of respondees want him to remain. Some would like him to take time off, but they all want to keep him. Mind-boggling.

He balanced the books and cut waste just like he promised to do in his campaign. He has never stolen from the taxpayer like so many other politicians have done. To some people, that's more important than being a drunken buffoon who was caught using crack.

While I'm not defending his actions, the left media has had a hate on him ever since he was elected. They have been digging through his trash, following his children around, and spying in his backyard for months on end. His opponent in the last election was an admitted cocaine user who was never once questioned by the media about his drug habits...in fact, they went out of their way to publish puff pieces on him in their attempt to pave the way for him.

Yes, he's a buffoon. But the media took it too far for too long and mounted an outright attack against him that no other politician had to go through.
