So will this shut up the Wolfgang Van Halen haters?

I like to listen the old VH, but not as a bass player.
I think Chickenfoot has making good stuff, better then Black Country Communiun, in my humble opiniun.
Replace Michael Antony is just a way to show how some guitarshows thinks about our instrument... no comments.

Replacing MA's bass lines isn't that difficult..........replacing his outstanding backing vocals is a much tougher task and I'm not sure Wolfie is up for that.
I've seen several comments on here that disturb me. I just received the September issue of BP in the mail recently, Wolfie is on the cover. Inside is a very good interview with him. He's asked about his equipment and what he uses. It then goes into some details about his background and how he started playing drums at the age of 7, guitar at the age of 10 and bass at the age of 14/15. He said his dad didn't really show him anything just a few power chords and told him to listen to AC/DC drum patterns.
He said that every day after school, he would come home and practice for 5 hours a day! 5 hours! After a while, he was asked by his dad and uncle to come and jam with them in the studio. Which he did. They started playing some old VH tunes and things just kind of took off from there. It was Wolf who suggested a reunion and that's where it went.
He also made mention of the fact that he did indeed play on the new CD. Said that people think it's his dad playing or that EVH is using an octaver to play the bass parts. He isn't. It's Wolfgang playing the bass parts. He says on a lot of the tunes, he mimics his dad's playing. This is why it sounds like Eddie is playing. So stop with all the assumptions and putting the guy down or comparing him to MA. The dude knows how to play and he's solid. How many of you are playing to an arena crowd every night? Hmmm? Yeah, just what I thought. Thank you, drive through...

So is the OP saying that MA couldnt play this song? Wolfie sounds great he can certainly play.

He most certainly doesn't sound like someone who's been practicing 5 hours a day. He does his job well though.
I have to agree with this. While I prefer the Van Halen with MA and Hagar, there is no reason to have beef with Wolfie. You actually have to credit him a great deal for bringing his dad back from the brink of self destruction and cleaning up. For those of us who still love Eddie's playing it is refreshing to see him sober and happy and playing like a madman live.
Roth is a complete tool, and totally sucks live, saw him in the Houston show. But that aside Wolfie has developed some great chops and VH was never a premier bass players band. MA is no Geddy Lee after all.
Good for Woflie and Eddie. I do think this is the last tour VH will ever do, glad I saw them 1 last time.
True, but Michael Anthony does some tasty fills in his playing. He's really good at that. I've stolen many of them myself.
