I think there is a typo about the chord.
Instead of Eb7/F, it should be either Eb/F or Eb6/F, or Cmin7/F.

Here's another, very well known one. In this case, I played the synth bass line from the original with an Octaver, so I'm playing the line one octave higher than written

As always, a very nice transcription.
When I used to play that line, I would play that riff as follows:

A grace note - B natural before C and B natural in Measure 2.

P.S. Should we notate the last note in Measure 2 as Cb?

Yes, that bass line is full of those B natural notes with all those flats in the key.

I have a question.
There is no Gb on the original bass line record in C-9 to F9.
It's your choice.
My immediate automatic reaction would be to play G in that chord structure.
What has swayed you to play Gb in that C-9/F9 chord configuration?

Personally, I like the Gb. My choice, too.
G would be "square". Like in the Disco feel part of the transcript.


Caveat: I have not listened to the track...just thinking what I would rather play.

Well, I transcribed this one really fast. Honestly it's not the best recording of the world, the bass just disappears from the mix from time to time (maybe it was the bass player who stopped playing, I'm not sure) and the bass player improvised all the time, so there's a lot of freedom here.



G natural would be the obvious choice, but I can definitely hear Gb here and there in the recording. Obviously both options will work, Gb just add a little more tension.

I can definitely hear Gb

This morning (before leaving for work), I've tried to add a similar but different passing/chromatic note with Cm9 - Open E.
Also, I'm not very keen of that groove - not moving and too repetitious for my 80's playing ears; therefore, I've slightly changed that groove.
(Of course, Amy would not have liked it, but as an amateur, "playing-in-the-bedroom" bassist, nobody tells me what and how to play.)
