Something fishy going on here (PC/Spam problem)

Something a bit funny is going on i think.

This morning when i logged onto msn i had two new emails, both of which were from MSN as i had apparently requested my password for MSN Live, which i hadnt.

Then, just now, i got a spam-email, but the email address was my own??? Well, it was another email address, with my email in "<>"'s implying that it was sent by my email address with another title.

What the hell is happening??

(I have now changed my password just incase)

Ive got a good going email account with my own domain name cheers , only problem is there was soo much i signed up to with hotmail i just never got round to switching things over

I've been getting Russian spam lately. At least I think it's Russian It's all goofy looking letters and pics of women. Not porno, more like modeling. Can't read a single word of it

The best thing to do would be to either call Microsoft or email them and explain what has been happening. If you email them it might be worth forwarding the actual email to them.
the chances are it is nothing more than spam. This sounds like a sophisticated phishing attempt to get your password to use for spamming. You've done the sensible thing in changing password, but it's still a good idea to report it.

I will report it, but it was two genuine MSN password emails i got.

And the other one was definatly sent by me, even shows as im a messenger contact to myself :huh:
