Something portable.

So I'm looking for something portable to jam on with headphones and maybe do some recording with. So far the two devices for this that I've seen that have sparked my interest have been the Roland Micro BR and the Line 6 Pocket Pod. My issues with the BR is that I've heard that it doesn't sound that great with bass, but it has a drum machine and seems pretty editable, and those are two huge pluses for me. I like Line 6 equipment but I've heard the X3 stuff doesn't sound that great with bass and also the Pod doesn't look like it has a drum machine.

So I guess I have a few questions:

Out of these two which both seem to be made primarily for guitar, which seems to work better with bass?

Is there something else I should be looking at that functions similar?

Are the issues I've heard about with bass just with the presets, and if they are could I edit it so it would sound better with bass?

Thanks in advance.
