Hello all. A while back I cataloged the transcredible exploits of my roommate and girlfriend and how it sunk my old band. (Found here talkbass.com/threads/everybody-loves-an-i-quit-thread.1068145)

Since then things have gotten a little hectic. Besides general neglect of trash and cleaning I've been hearing a lot of pretty awful things. We know a lot of the same people and I found out his girlfriend had to go in for surgery. Of course she played it up like it was life threatening but apparently it was just some infected lip BS.

Here's where things get dicey. Apparently she got it because they got blackout drunk (not unusual) and started swinging at eachother. Only 28 more days and they're out of my life forever. Anybody else got some insane bad roommate stories?

There was an incident i had with a roommate years ago in which he wanted to do certain things to a certain young lady, and I ended up doing those certain things instead. He was not happy. The next morning my car didn't have any side mirrors on it. I was not happy.

Mmmm...So while you were in the bedroom doing some poken, your mirrors got a broken. :D . Nothing is for free.

I was in a band like that- demonic things happened to all of us:
My wife got deported.
Singers daughter was born developmentally disabled.
Drummers girlfriend changed the locks on him and moved her "were only friends" guy in the same day.
Guitarist screwed the female REPLACEMENT drummer that I used to have a thing for. Then she blew up more or less.
THIRD drummer pulled a drumstick on me in an attempted fistfight.

But no, I never made the mistake of living with any of them! :beaver:

I got her back here within a year.

...where were you when I needed the info that might not have been the best course of action? :beaver:

my mistake...just that a lot of guys, myself included would not view a deported wife/ex wife in a negative light.....at least not now....
what were the circumstances?....sounds like an incredible episode of 60 minutes....

Circumstances- I married her on another dudes fiancé visa! Our lawyer said to her "sweetie you need to leave the country voluntary while I sort this out!". Then he turned to me and said "that will be 5 grand".
11 years later I agree.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I forget the number now cause i've been living alone or with my gf for the past 6 years but in the first 5 years I lived in mtl I had something around 30 roommates. That's right. Mainly because two of the apt I had were pretty much revolving door and we were either 4 or 5 people living together. So yeah I have a few stories.

Roommate that stays a month, gives us a check that bounces and disappears.

The guy who wouldn't do any houses chores because he claimed he didn't use anything. Not even the garbage (so no taking garbage out). He was loaded with cash and didn't hav eanything and was the cheapest guy I've known and called his cute and nice gf his p**** when she wasn't around.

The chinese roommate who wanted me to give him French classes and he would lower my rent (he was the only one on the lease) and then the time I did give him French lessons he started touching my legs (turns out I preferred my rent to be what it was, i'm not a prosti). Then when I moved out he wanted to have a dinner with me probably to tell me he loved me. I declined.

Roommate who would decide to have improptu parties until 4am. Nevermind that the neighbors complained to me directly.

The roommate who was a "dj" and absolutely had to "practice" his set in the house at full volume and THEN would tell me to turn down the tv at night.

The girl you could hear effin through the walls with graphic details as to what was happening (i could hear her talk).

You name them I've had them.

Then there's the gf roommate who I was with for two years. Fine until we split and decided to stay there until the end of the lease with an extra roommate (the above party guy). Sounded like a decent idea, we're adults and all, surely we can manage. until I found her doing it with some guy on the couch after one of the roommate's parties. Well more like both passed out with pants down, him on top of her. Classy. A bit disrespectful I thought....we had split cause id found out she had cheated on me so this shouldn't have been a surprise. She was a bit of an alcoholic on weekends and spent all her money going out which then made it hard or impossible for her to pay her share and then I had to myself go talk to the landlord who I realized was most likely in the greek mafia (I have an unreal story of going into his office and theres like 6 guys there and he's sitting at his desk in the middle of them and then chews me out about the rent asking if we have drug habits after that i told my ex, you don't pay YOU f***ing go see him, i'm done). As we were moving out at the end of the lease, the son of the landlord turned up saying he was locking our stuff in until the last month was paid. I'd given her the money. god knows what she'd done with it. She made up a lie on the spot though so I had just enough time to get away with my stuff. the funny thing is despite all this..she's the only ex i'm still friend with. She has a good heart but bad habits but she's changed now.

After that I lived with a guy that was about as antisocial as me. Bad idea. He basically found ways to get annoyed with me despite me trying my best. Then I met my current gf while I still lived there, I asked him if it was ok if she would come over for 2 or 3 days. Sure he said. Nevermind id never brought anyone home and he often had friends over. We kept quiet and to ourselves, tried to be around as least as possible. One the second day shes there he knocks on my door, "hey, can I see your lease, need it for my financial aid application" (he was going back to school through some government program, the thing is he was on the lease but id signed on with him as a roommate). Sure i say, I hand it to him, he grabs it, rips it apart in front of me and new gf and says "I want you out of here in two weeks." No explanation. So I was out of there in two weeks. this was the last time I had a roommate. Not counting my gf.

Never. Again.
