Guys if you want "the science" to back up any given argument, rest assured you can find it. There are studies to refute studies that support other studies... you get the idea.
Ultimately you just gotta go with what works. An anecdotal piece of meaty food for thought here... A few years ago I was told that I had to do something about my weight or face some pretty dire consequences (death, for example). A simple diet change did the trick and I am now over a hundred pounds lighter. Blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, the works are all exemplary... I could go on ad nauseum.
Was it veggies that did it? Nope. My diet is MAJORITY meat-based protein with veggies giving me supplemental nutrients. So after years of battling a weight problem and trying every conceivable diet/health plan known to man (including the vegetarian route) it was a protein based diet that finally whipped it and continues to keep me healthy, so I get a good laugh when I hear about how unhealthy it is to eat meat.
What I am getting at is this: is it just POSSIBLE that there is no one size fits all approach to dietary health? Am I supposed to believe that all of the nearly seven BILLION people on the planet are going to have the exact same reaction to the exact same diet?? Or is it maybe more likely that there's going to be some variation in requirements in there somewhere? Come on, peoples... We're a very complex organism with many MANY subtle differences, so "different strokes for different folks" is not just some tired cliché when it comes to taking care of ourselves... It's damn near the biological IMPERATIVE.
So vegans... Stop being so judgmental and sanctimonious with the carnivores! Leave em alone and keep working on your vegan mind powers (man I hope someone gets the reference) Carnivores... Leave the vegans alone and concentrate your ire on people that throw A1 sauce on a perfectly cooked and seasoned Porterhouse good GOD what is wrong with those people?!? I submit to you THEY are the villains here!
... is there any chance at this point of returning to how lame the animal torturers are? That seemed to be something everyone agreed on...
