best rack for metal?
I didn't expect to see all this sarcasm. I thought for sure this thread would be full of the "it's all the hands, gear means nothing" snobbery.
Yes, obviously, technique is important. The right gear helps, too.
Seriously though. This hand voodoo stuff sounds like a bunch of baloney to me.So, you're saying that technique matters? I'm not buying it.
What's the best toothbrush for metal?
Sorry, I don't live in Tennessee. I need a TEETHbrush.

It referes on a guitar player but suits on bass players too.
tone is a debatable thing. Some people think equipment is the origin of his tone...when it's actually his picking attack/angle, natural/artificial harmonics, finger strength, finger coordination, timing, internal rhythm, personal preference of scales/chords/rhythm patterns/chops/licks/riffs/ and style. I have a Mesa 100W head and Ibanez Prestige...I can get it to sound like Dime's guitars & amps, but to get his tone, I have to mimic every subtle nuance of his playing style.

You found something "wise" on the internet? I'd ask for your money back.
All that post I thought was common knowledge. I could have told you that and saved you the google-time.
This is pretty much all we wanted to say, but we took the scenic route that includes sarcasm, tired TB jokes, and overall sophomoric dooooooosherie.![]()
