does anyone no any good songs to play to practice bass? I alrdy know with or without u by U2 thx for the memories by fall out boy and seven nation army by the white stripes but wish to expand on song choose. any suggestions on songs I can look for while doing my tabs?

Anything early by David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust album is a great set of lines for learning). Then play STP, Audioslave, and Candlebox songs. Those are more your era and will stretch you. And then when you need to count odd time signatures, try Possum Kingdom by the Toadies.

I'm in the same boat you are, just picked up bass in January. So far I really dig playing rage against the machine's- bulls on parade and killing in the name. Voodoo by godsmack is a nice slow bass line and not to hard to pick up.

a decent method book that emphasizes reading.....work on that,then you will be able to play any song you want....
