A friend's band ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) does live mash-ups of all sorts of stuff as their main schtick.

Might trigger off an idea or two...

I don't enjoy when bands do this. I like to hear complete songs, even when dancing. I saw a band do this for all three sets, they finished about 3 songs and did a dumb down on all the parts (bass basically played the 1 & 3 on every song just hanging on the root). So I guess I agree with the do it carefully aspect.

I play in a modern country cover band and we do a lot of this kind of thing, mostly off the cuff.
Livin' Fast Forward/ She Thinks My tractor's Sexy
Looking For A Good Time/ You Shook Me (ACDC)
Devil Went Down To Nashville/Enter Sandman
Here For The Party/Hick Town/She's Country/Hick Town
Johnny Cash (Aldean)/Johnny and June/Folsom

Hey, what seems to set some bands apart is the way they are able to blend songs one into another - medleys, whether by the same group or not.

Would love to hear some ideas of songs that would work well together and one seamless transition (not merely stopping, keeping the beat going, but literally half of one song and half of another).

Here's ours that we were doing.

ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin' (1/2) right into Sharp Dressed Man (full song)

What I Like About You - The Authority Song - Dancing With Myself

Every Rose Has its Thorn-Hotel California

Alright Now-The Other Woman - Shook Me All Night Long

Looking for some ideas in my new project!
I'm in a band and check these Mashups we do.
The joker, shaggy's angel, and juice Newton angel of the morning.
We also do bruno mars the lazy song, semiosonics closing time, and smashmouth all-star
