I'm looking for stuff to possibly cover in a band that's got hawks in the name... theoretically doing dark country but somehow that includes Lana Del Rey and Kate Bush, so... anyway... post some good songs with hawks in the lyrics and/or title, even if they're not anything we could ever cover.

Actually really like that Daniel Lanois one. Not sure if I've heard anything from him before, though the name's certainly familiar.

He was very much a happening producer in the 80’s and 90’s…first emerged(from Canada)as an associate of Martha and the Muffins, a Toronto new wave band that got a little traction for a while. Partnered with Brian Eno, did some albums, and then the two worked with U2(Joshua Tree); all the while he crafted his trademark atmospheric sound which he brought to Robbie Robertson, Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Peter Gabriel, Gordon Lightfoot, and others. Issued a number of solo albums that were staples of Adult Contemporary radio programming, plus some other collaborative releases.

Adult contemporary, heh. No wonder I've never heard him, I wasn't that old back then and have steadfastly refused to grow up since. That song's really cool, too, though "Where The Hawkwind Kills" would probably be a better fit for us to actually cover.

Rome released this recently, I think months after I started this thread. Though I do like the Evi Vine song a lot better.
