Great bass and drum duos...the rolling stones (with bill and charlie), sabbath (with geezer and bill), blind faith, zeppelin...
Some super deep heavy tones from electric wizard, boris, sleep.

It sounds like you are looking to step outside of your wheel house. With that idea in mind I'd try a bit of everything 
Trapeze from back in the day are a great band to jam along with. Link Removed . Shine On is also a great tune.
Harlequin Inbound Train This song just jams.
Y&T isn't every ones cup of tea ( I dig em ) but the rhythm section is top notch. Link Removed is a fun song to play ( if somewhat repetitive )
Breaking Benjamin is another band that isn't every ones cup of tea ( again I REALLY dig em ) but I love the bass players lines and sound. Link Removed is a great tune ( with an F bomb so NSFW or kid safe ) However it really shows everything about the band I love, plus they are from the Keystone State so props for my boys Wish they didn't implode, I would love to hear more from them.
Joe Cocker always has a great band and in this song, which I love to play, the bass is so cool This might be a bit too far outside your comfort zone, but suggesting it anyway. It's silky bass goodness and damn good songs in any event. Link Removed and Link Removed.

Mudvayne yea there nu metal but they have a very technical Percussive bassist megadeth they have some very good bass lines iron maiden sweet gallop lines
my "Go To" albums are the first 2 Joe Jackson Band : Look Sharp & I'm The Man - Graham Maby always has (& always will) inspire me !
Try - John Mayer Trio. Pino kills it on bass.
...And Out Come the Wolves - Rancid. Great example of punk bass playing that is more than just root notes.
Flow - Terrence Blanchard. Great modern jazz album. Derek Hodge plays bass and does an outstanding job.

From Here To Infirmary - Alkaline Trio. Both albums from a time before being an "emo" band was a bad thing.
Night Train - Oscar Peterson. No one swings like Ray Brown.

I really enjoy a little known band from NC. They are sort of metal core/ jazz / metal all in one. Definitely not for everyone, but I really enjoy the time changes, and their ability to incorporate multiple genres in their own sound. Check them out HE IS LEGEND. Specifically the first and third albums, though I enjoy all of them.
