Add real Neuritic speakons and you can thrown away the soldering iron, heat shrink, etc. and the connector has strain relief that will never fail a fat round rubber SJ000x. Under a buck a ft. for SJ at Home Depot and you can always have the right length.
The only drawback to this type of cable is it's a PITA to strip the rubber case back without nicking the wires. I bend it sharply, then just nick the outer casing with a razor knife and the case splits, continue until it splits to expose some of the conductor insulation and stop. Rotate the cable and repeat on another section. There's probably a proper tool for it if I can ever remember to ask when in the store.
