a while back I picked up a 4 string Japanese made Ibanez SDGR 800 that was in POOR POOR condition and some dog awful purple paint on it. Got her cheap , around the $75 mark, it played nice , one pot of 4 worked, had some pre amp in it that did nothing , but was playable , so I Decided to do up a theme bass. I collaborated with a Guitar player I played with for a lot of years (he is also an accomplished airbrush artist) and we came up with a TRON theme , I am a HUGE sci fi geek and the TRON movies and cartoon are amongst my favorites. but instead of just a pic of light cycles or of a sprite , he came up with a design that is fairly unique that covered the whole Bass, tip to tail.

I recently got it back, he did a Phenomenal job on it, an artists job is not cheap , but well worth it, he also went over the white areas with an aura of phosphorescent paint that gives a blue glow in the dark , glows bright and shows every detail , the pics i provide are kind of crappy and do not do this girl justice. I just got my EMG Geezer Butler PJ set from Musicians Friend , and DR Neon blues from bass strings on line. the Ping machineheads I got local , brought in from another out of province store. Just got her together last night and did a quick setup on her , plays like butter and the signature Geezer growl to it , I still have to play with my amp a bit to get the sound I want but its a thing of beauty to play and the geezers sound great .

Without further adieu, I present the TRON bass, GEEK edition MH001

I wanted a new style Bit on the front to kind of break it up, the grid is kind of a nod to the game grid, but I agree, i really dig the circuit boarding he did on the back and the way he tied it into the neck markers. The guy who did it is a former bandmate and close friend he does phenomenal work, a lot of the fancy helmets you see on that oil riggers show on TLC or history are his handywork. here is a link to his photo album, check it out and give his page a like if you feel so inclined
