Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

If we're still keeping a list ... I just added this to my SA arsenal. :hyper:

Any word on the Ventris software (app & desktop editor)? I can't use the pedal as I had intended until I'm able to route each engine to its own output. :(
oh man that is going to be so useful! Didn't even think that would be possible.

I'm getting plenty of use out of the Ventris for now w/ the True Spring, Plate and Offspring engines, but the backpage menus are going to be so powerful.

Can I take a moment to whine about Canadian retailers and Source Audio products. All I want to do is support someone "local". Online Long & McQuade is carrying everything SA EXCEPT the hub and has never replied to my emails asking if there is a way to order. Local L&M (2 hours away) store isn't stocking SA in the store and said they would get back to me about getting one in, but that was weeks late november. The few other online stores don't have it in stock and/or are asking like $155.00 plus shipping.
It's worth noting that I live north of nowhere Saskatchewan and only have a PO Box as an address so it's difficult to order stuff stateside as many don't want to send to PO box.
Ok... I'm done. :D I feel much better now.

Indeed ... I made this mockup of a Midi Designer (iPad app) control surface for the Ventris, now I just need the full spec so I can add the actual MIDI commands.

I'm having problems mapping an expression pedal (M.Audio) to my settings. I'm adjusting parameters via the desktop editor and across the board when I try to map something to my presets the knob I'm mapping jumps around when the pedal is stationary and it doesn't seem to correspond to the pedal mapping.

For example, I map the time to be 9 o'clock when the pedal is at its heel and full 5 o'clock when the pedal is in the toe position. Lights blink just as they should throughout the mapping process. When I scroll down on the editor the Mappings are correctly displayed (green highlight where it should be, knob positions where they should be). But then when I test it out and watch via the desktop app the knob values jump around and the sound doesn't seem right. For example if I map the time as above and have it at its lowest position, it may jump around between 12 and 2 on the desktop app when the pedal is set in the heel position. I should be hearing a short delay time but its somewhere in the middle and I can hear it fluctuating even though I'm not touching the exp pedal.

Help?

We are working hard on it. Highest priority work in the company right now.

The desktop editor is getting close! Likely this time next month.

It's still in the works, but here's our current [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].

It sounds like the signal coming from the expression pedal could be noisy, or perhaps even a grounding issue. Some things to check:
The expression pedal should be connected to the Nemesis' 1/4" expression input with a TRS cable.
The switch next to the Nemesis' 1/4" expression input should be set to "EXP."
The Nemesis should be powered by an isolated power supply/port providing 9V and a minimum of 180mA.
If you're still experiencing issues, please send a note to [email protected]

Has anyone else had any issues updating their Neuro Hub to 1.17?
I've just bought one, I'm hoping to use it with my new Boss ES-8 and my aftershock. I downloaded the Hub Manager 2.1.2 windows software, interestingly the online help menu item goes to a broken web link.

I connected up the hub to my aftershock, did a scan of the devices. Plugged in the hub to my laptop and I could see the two devices (hub and the Aftershock). I downloaded the Hub firmware and performed an update and now the hub seems to be bricked. None of the buttons seem to work and it's not being found in the Hub manager software.

I have to say that it's a pity there isn't one unified piece of software from Source Audio and their web site is filled with 404 errors of dead links. There's no manual in the box...so I had to go hunting for a pdf manual on their website...most of the links in the manual are broken links or they give 404 errors...this all seems a bit of hard work and I've got a bricked hub too.

Any thoughts or common issues here? It's tarnished my love for the brand somewhat.

Your timing is terrible! Sorry! Our web hosting company dropped service with no warning. We needed to piece something together in short order and right before the holidays.
Nathan is back in the office on January 2, and we will get you up and running asap.

Yes, we are moving to one single piece of software for editing and updating of all products.

Ha! Sorry to hear that and no problems. I was just worried that you had lost faith in your products, a unified piece of software will make every one's life a lot simpler. Most of the Hub's FAQ's and help are all 404. Which is a bit worrying when I've just bought one and it didn't work! lol! I'll look forwards to chatting to Nathan in the new year.
Blessings!

I got my Ventris hooked up yesterday (Roger, thanks again for the TS coupler!) and connected everything to my computer to make sure I had all the latest firmware. I noticed that the Hub Manager doesn't recognize the Ventris even though it's properly connected. My other three SA pedals (Aftershock, Lunar and Nemesis) are visible in the Hub Manager. Is this just a temporary issue that will be cured by an impending software update?
