Just touched down in LA. All 7 of us made it. The SA team was VERY lucky to escape the snow in the northeast today. Our gear for our booth is missing according to UPS Freight. A bit of a daunting development the eve of NAMM eve. "We are professionals, we will rise above it!!"

Somehow our very nice, borrowed demo speakers at CES arrived with a giant hole through one of the woofers and some other miscellaneous damage. Luckily our customer was nice enough to overnight another pair of nice, but significantly less cool speakers for the show open. I can relate to the last minute panic inducement.

I'm doing a lot of research on the idea of midi if I decide this is the route I want to go... Would this work as a foot controller if I got the hub. Making sure before I take the plunge into an entire SA pedalboard. I'm seriously considering doing this.

That'll work, but once you decide to go with that size of device you have a lot of alternatives with more functionality and better/different aesthetics.

So, I have the OFD, Orbital, and Manta. Now, I must have the dual expression pedal. These things are simply amazing.

On a side note, I just put velcro on the three SB2 pedals, and I can safely say that SourceAudio did not skimp out on glue quality for those little rubber feet. :)

Haha right?!? I almost took a nail off getting them off. I too want to grab an expression pedal but I'm not sure if I want that or the HH3 yet. Hmmmmmm. Decisions decisions. I may go with the expression as it's a tad cheaper. If I do though, I'm either going to have to get a bigger board or build a sister board. I already have a couple of smaller boards built but man, I really don't want to cart TWO boards around. I know, little problems, but still.

I've been going through the same thought process. I picked up a manta to give SA a try... I like what I hear and the variety of options in each pedal is amazing, but I am having a hard time with the interface. I like having all my controls at the surface of the pedal.

When I joined my current band they kind of had to hold my hand to get into midi, two of guys had some experience with using midi to switch presets on their POD's and channels on their amps (Diezel VH4) but that was it. In the last three years we've taken every opportunity to aggressively get into midi. It's really quite simple. It's the same protocol that has existed since the 70's. If you have a logical mind and can do very simple math, you'll get the hang of it.

I think the hub will open up midi to some people who hadn't considered it before. Doing simple preset loading with program changes is easy peasy. Once you get into controlling paramters with CC's, it can get a little more confusing, but start with program changes. I'm going to put all three SA pedals + hub + my Line 6 M5 in a rack with my amp and an 80's Rocktron Patchmate that I can send program changes to change presets (it's a bypass looper). Going to be great.

I promise I'll hang out in this thread and help anyone who is making the jump into midi as much as you need it. It can exponentially open up your musical creativity if you can master it!

I definitely think that the B3 may have to go if I get into the hub and Midi. I think that it just adds so much potential to having multiple SA pedals. I have been playing with the three I have this evening and you can combine them into some pretty sweet sounds. Add to that all the other pedals on my board, and the possibilities are amazing. Wonder if there is a midi mouse/gecko alternative that is cheap and lets you name your presets. I guess that could be done with an ipad but I'd rather not go that route.

See, I'm open to midi because I do understand what capabilities comes with it. I'm just trying to decide if the pedals I want from SA can do what I have now... that's what I'm weighing at the moment. Some of my bands song are in my hands so to speak, in terms of the sounds i have now. My big questions are, Can the orbital modulator do what I need? Same with the ofd. Not doubting the pedals, just really treading lightly, :) cause I'd be flipping about 5 or six pedals. Lol and that scares me a little!
