Source Audio Zio Bass Preamp

I have never played "Multiple Preamp – DI – Saturator – FX Loop" (CAPO) but it looks great and has a clean DI and a post EQ/EFX DI, too.

In my situation, it's overkill @ $550 (Fat Bass Tone) and so I find the ZIO meets my needs and exceeds expectations in my application. My amp has a post-EQ/EFX loop DI so I'm covered there.

If additional routing is ever required. The H90 is crazy well equipped in that area. I just have to bite the bullet and get into that community college course to be able to get it to do everything it can do!

I played the Capo for approx. 6 months. It sounds great and its analog "cab sim" (more of a LPF, I think) is the "Best" analog cab sim/LPF to MY ears.
It shines when slightly overdriven and more overdriven.
To me its sound has nothing to do with the ZIO.
I have both and I agree with this. ZIO is easier to use as a clean preamp, and it's controls work better for me than a 3 band EQ. I only use the Capo and not my ZIO at the moment, only because the new onboard preamp I have on my bass does such a great job (Underhill dual filter). I'm not using the Capo as always on, it's only for when I want some drive.

So both are great, but if I had to choose one I'd probably keep the ZIO. Better value and easier controls for clean. I'm glad I don't have to just choose one though :D

I have an Underhill in my bass as well, and got the Zio because of that. I dial my mids in surgically with the Underhill, and let Zio do the rest!
I agree......only use an HPF....and ironically, the Zio does include a form of HPF anyway.
I also prefer a HPF to a cab sim. It allows me more control.

After watching the recent Source Audio video with the ZIO using the Headphone Out to interface i decided to give it a go into another amp and use both Outputs.

So right now im going out the ZIO Output jack to my Fender Rumble 500 Return FX and out the ZIO Headphone Out to a little Eden Nemesis 8" amp. So 4 x 10" speakers and one 8" speaker. Sounds really cool. Another cool feature from the ZIO!

Can you post a link to the video?
