I'm helping a friend out fixing their bass. One of the pots is missing the nut. anyone know where I might find a replacement. It's an Ibanez if that helps

I'm not 100% on this but you might try a hardware store in the electric section, you'd want a 'jamb nut' for a lamp conduit. A lamp conduit is the tube that the lamp socket screws onto.
Guitar pots generally come in two bushing sizes, either M8x.75 or 3/8 x 32. The M8 size is smaller in diameter and pretty common on Ibanez basses, though I'm sure there have been some that had 3/8-32.
The low profile nuts you normally find on guitars are usually called either a jam nut or a panel nut. I agree with @sissy kathy that a normal hardware store would probably have them. If not, you can buy a bag of them on amazon or ebay, though at that point you might as well just buy a new pot since it'll be cheaper.
