US: South SOUTH CAROLINA BASSISTS

It's tough man. I have a bass, several in fact, and am amp and a cab. But I don't have the chops or the confidence to call myself a "bass player."

I've been involved for years with a number of local guys as well as people from different states. We've self-produced several records under the band name "SLOBOT" and our self-made label is Uterine Fury Records.

I do most of the bass and guitar parts, another friend does a lot of the mixing and other guitar/bass parts, and various interlopers contribute bits and loops that we use to make "songs." I'm using all the parentheses because no one really recognizes us as musicians except for ourselves.

I've had some severe medical issues over the past 7 years and that has greatly reduced our output. We were on the verge of getting our collective #(@! together so we could perform live but that was about the time I got sick, had to quit work, and have been dealing with a gastric disease. So we've lost all our momentum.

Dang. That just turned into one big old sob story, din't.
:)

Can anyone here give me the skinny on Greenville and Lexington?

-Jobs (accounting and nursing)
-kid’s schools
-family environment

Thanks all. I’m coming from South Florida.
Greenville is an amazing city! Lots of growth great hospital systems ( Bon Secours, GHS, etc.) School systems I would not be familiar except to say I hear Greenville County schools are better than Spartanburg. Lots of churches and and family oriented activities do around here!
