I don't know about you, but I'm addicted to it. I love looking up at the stars and everytime I see a really bright one I get all jollied cuz it's probably a planet. Anytime one of those Univererse shows comes on NTGEO or history, I watch it and DVR it at the same time.

I guess its just that its so darn big, how bout chu?

If you see a really bright star it's probably star (like our sun), not a planet.

Yup I love all that stuff...Take an astronomy class if you can...You'll learn 3X as much as the history channel can teach you and its an easy A (at least that's why everyone else in the class took it).

Also if you just love space photos borders had a book on clearance sale for 20 bucks hardcover that was like 150 giant pages (2x the size of a textbook) FULL of amazing space photos...it must have cost 50 bucks just to print, I scooped one up as soon as I saw it.

Theoretically you are correct planets are not stars... however in the summer for example Mars is the brightest object in the night sky (besides the moon) and it looks just like a star to the naked eye, which I believe was the OPs point.

This is what the hubble telescope picked up back in 2004. With a 10 day exposure to a piece of the sky roughly the size of 1/4 of the moon. They believe that the majority of these are ancient galaxies , formed only 700,00 years after the big bang.
