Spalted maple sunburst body, where can i get one?

Hi i was looking at some sadowsky basses and i saw the beuty of my life!
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I know its a flame finish but what exactly is the name of this very bass finish? Including the wood and all. My Alembic got flame finish but its not the same without that kind of wood etc. See where im going with this?

+ if you know what its called, do you know where you could buy a body piece? so i can add it to one of my basses? (Jazz preferd but up for anything here)

(bare in mind that the sunburst is what puts it all over the rest!)

AWSOME LOOK!

Warmoth are your best bet for a body replacement although I think they might only do them with binding like this one from their gallery.

WARMOTH.
It will cost you about $600 delivered for a showcase (in-stock) body and I can only assume more if you custom order it.
But their stuff is supposedly the best for after-market bodies and necks.

The finish you're looking at looks like tobacco burst over slightly flamed spalted maple.
Warmoth does spalted tops over any body wood and any finish.

Do you make a Jazz body like this?

Hello,
The way we construct bodies does no allow us to use spalt without a plastic body binding.
If you wish to use binding on a J-Bass body, no problem.

Respectfully,

Anyone know what this means? hehe

Spalted maple can be very soft and punky. Warmoth uses a hard plastic binding on the top edge of the body to protect the laminate top. The binding follows the forearm contour, BTW.

Here is a guitar with a spalt top. If you look at the side, you'll see a black line. That is the binding.

Otherwise, no problem doing a spalt maple top on a J bass body.
