i'm considering ordering a wishbass before he closes his shop. i'm pretty sure i want to go for a spalted top with a purpleheart fingerboard ..but just for kicks, i wanna see differnt wood combos with spalted maple..

Here is the same bass early on with a mac ebony fingerboard. We ended up going with gaboon ebony in the end because it seemed to work much better with the dark black lines of the spalt.

My Sadowsky NYC four that's on order has a a spalted maple top, it's just such a cool looking wood.

Seriously. At 18mm spacing it would bring me back into the fold. Right now I'm simply trying to find if Willis' "tri-wing" tuners are still for sale. He used to sell them from his site, but no joy anymore. I've dropped him a line to see if that's still possible - I'd like to set up my Spectors with them.
