I’m sure this has been covered. So I think I’ve blown one of the speakers in my SWR Henry 8x8. I’m going to have it reconed. If I continue to play the cab will I put an undue load on the additional speakers and risk blown if them as well? Thank you guy for your input.

Just to be clear. I hear a buzz in one of the speakers. I’m sure that speaker needs to be repaired. It seems that if I continue to play on a damaged speaker it would put an undue load on the other speakers and possibly cause failure for the other weaker speakers. Again, thank you.

It won't put an "undue load" on the other speakers. But don't do it.

LOL I use a 8x10 and not looking to buy a 2x12 ever
pretty moot anyways
i dont have a problem with a big cab.

anyhoo. if the driver is damaged unplug it lol and leave it in there.
then again if series and parallel wired the series driver will stop too.

speaker might have gotten damage and yes is making noise.
but wires can dangle next to speakers or random stuff falls in the port etc etc

you can still use the cab kinda
common sense comes to play
if your putting to much power to it. it farts out.
then back off.

anyhoo you earned your bass players merit bade for blowing a speaker lol
like old WW2 fighters that marked their kills on the aircraft.
put a little mark on your bass or amp. 1 driver down.

i remember melting my first coil.
buy another 8x8 almost cheaper than one driver...almost
but the fun is buying more good speakers. then killing almost bad speakers for fun.
its technically not dead yet. its making clck and clanks.

To check out your speakers, pull the grill off first. Then look for creases around the cone. If you see a crease, the speaker needs re-coning or replacement. Then spread your the fingers of one hand around the inside of the cone of one of the speakers and gently push in and out slightly. It should move easily. If you feel scratchy movement or if it sticks, the voice coil on that speaker is ruined and you need to replace or re-cone. With 8 speakers, if you find one bad, odds are you'll find a number of them.

i actually really like the idea of tallying blown speaker/amps. a nice way to make a frustrating experience more positively memorable

it sucks blowing drivers
or at least the first one. lol
then started enjoying killing speakers and bragging about it.
and buying up cheap cabs and blowing drivers and switching blown ones for new ones

but in a previous thread it was mentioned the 8x8 cab uses a special design celestion speaker

its a 32 ohm bg8-60 celestion
check your other drivers and see if that is what you have.

otherwise 32 ohm driver would indicate the cabinet is all parallel wired.
8x32 = 4ohm cabinet.
if you just unplug that driver and run 7 speakers. and just leave the blown driver in so you dont have a hole or leak in the cab
7x32 would be a 4.5 ohm cabinet.

but i did find one replacement driver on reverb for reference
