I have a D140 recone (parameters totally unknown), and a slightly small but hopefully usable box to be mated. The box (inside) is 13.5 deep, 18.325 high and 25.625 wide, the four holes are each 2.375 each, but had/have 2" ID x 5" long plastic port inserts.

Looking for help redesigning - hopefully only modifying the ports - to tune this box to that speaker ... maybe in exchange a small gift certificate to your favorite beverage store?

The problem is how original or faithful the recone is to the original design parameters. It's fairly easy if they really are the same, but if they are different then it requires a different set of tools.

That's it ^^ !!!

My theory is the previous owner put a random 15" speaker in there just to sell it "whole". I had assumed the cabinet was "built" for that random speaker, and would need re-porting for the speaker I wanted to use. The "original" speaker, really a guitar speaker, did indeed sound like crap in that cabinet - but a "proper" Bass Speaker actually sounds pretty good in there, cabinet unchanged ... hence my theory.

Sorry to all herein for not earlier providing that update.

I defer to your experience. All I can say is that's what the seller told me.

Sellers will often lie, or they may have been lied too, or the parts came in a 2226 box, or the got sold a bill of goods on the internet or that they just have no idea what they are talking about.

Happens all the time. ;)
