Speaker Cabinet Problems

I have been having some mysterious rattle/my speaker is blown noise coming from my cabinets of late. I was on stage with the sound engineer for Dark Star Orchastra and we were talking about it. He suggested my speakers were loose and rattleing in the box. Got home and pulled them all apart and sure enough, every speaker, every speaker screw was loose EVERY ONE OF THEM!!!! I never thought about it.
I can't wait to get home tonight and put the rig all together and see what is up...
Anyone else have this problem?

how old is the cabinet?

I wonder if all those low vibes loosened the screws.

If they are just wood screws going into the wood baffle, replace them with T-nuts and metal screws.

If they already are T-nuts/metal screws, then dab a bit of blue Locktite on them and tighten them down. You won't have that problem again - and the BLUE Locktite ""can"" be loosened at a future date if you need to remove the speaker. Do not use the RED Locktite, that one is permanent!

It's rare. It indicates a poor choice of fasteners.

Cabinets are Schroeders. Before the L & R stuff. Great cabinets. There are Hex Head metal screws with those anchor type nuts into the wood. My cab's have gotta be from about 2006 or so.

I had to do that once on my older Genz 2x15 (gray baffle era). Hasn't happened again.

I used a 1212 for one of my main cabs for a number of years but never had a problem...Huh.

Maybe some of the lightweight locktite? Blue?

Take one of the screws with you to a hardware store and find small lock washers.

Either that or a dab of locktite
