Speaker replacement

Nothing is wrong with the speaker except it is a 8 ohm and I need a 4 ohm. As to sound I am looking for something to reinforce the low bass, through low mids. It will be part of a bi-amp system.

The output difference between an 8 ohm and a 4 ohm is not that much. Even if it allowed you to double your wattage, it would only gain at best +3db (and that is if the speaker can cleanly turn all the extra wattage into sound).

Also, if bi-amping, you would only need a 6" driver to handle the rest.

If you are running bi-amped, it's not necessary for both cabs to have the same impedance. The outputs of a bi-amped setup are independent, basically a stereo amp, and they can have an 8 ohm load on one channel and a 4 ohm load on the other.

As Bass_Pounder pointed out, you really aren't going to get that much louder on output. You're not going to get double the volume!
