Speaker Troubles?

So I have a 1973 Traynor YC-610 with 3 seemingly unworking speakers. I believe they are all the original Marsland 10's. I've torn the thing open (all 50 screws in the back) and redone all the wiring. All the speakers register ~7.5 ohm, meaning there is a current running through them (i.e. no blown voice-coil). But, like I said, 3 of the 6 don't make a sound when I play. The cones appear to be intact. Any ideas?

Make sure the cones move. A bad driver could have a frozen voice coil that still measures OK.

thanks. That's what I thought. Any way to remedy this? Or am I going to have to go get new speakers?

If the cones won't move they would have to be reconed. With the advances in driver technolgy in even the last 5 years, let alone 30, I'd just replace all of them.

I replaced the 25+ year old Black Widows in my Peavey 215 Cabinet with Eminence Deltalite II 2515 drivers.

The improvement was amazing and across the board.
Deeper lows, more punch, more upper mids, warmer sounding, and the cab is much lighter now. Subjectively the volume per watt of power is much higher.

I also added a pair of Neutrik Speakon connectors and a second 1/4" jack at the same time along with upgrading the internal wiring to 14 gauge stranded.
