Going to finish up the WBO build that I put on hold to get @Fat Freddy's Special K done. A semi hollow inspired by the Hammersmith Model K

Here's where we're at:

Roasted maple neck, Indian Ebony FB, Maple top, Sapele back EMG MMCS and what? A bass whammy? Well that's one of the options I have on hand for a bridge.

It's either the whammy, a high mass bridge or a tune-o-matic with the strings anchored in the body something like this:

Opinions?

Whammy!.....You know you wanna....:D.....

Damn fine looking bass there....Must belong to a pretty special player....:bassist:

What kind of whammy are you using? It looks like it has fine-tuning adjustment screws like a Floyd Rose notaTremolo system.
It's an inexpensive one I bought off ebay; A former TB'er had used one on a build so I decided to get one to try. The fine tuning probably doesn't work but the fulcrum setup for the whammy looks functional,

I'm super curious to see how a thin layer like that looks upon finish. I have a bunch of really thin lam sheets that I may or may not want to do something with some day.
Scroll up to post #9, I prototyped the sandwich with scraps and small piece of the same veneer, and applied the eventual finish.

You started de-fretting yet? :eyebrow:
Well actually, no....but then again, I don't have a nice workshop all set up and ready to go like some.......

Actually have the other half of me bench turning up today though...:hyper:....

Y'know, since they started prioritizing shipping, just about everything that I'd ordered was sent straight to the back of the line, and quite rightly too, but it's just holding me up a bit, that's all.....
