SPECTOR® Club - Part 57

As I take a little break from tuning up for this Saturday's gig I look across the room at my Forte and it just strikes me (again) what a great concept this bass is.

The big 3 did this with muscle cars back in the 60's. You could get a bare bones, bad ass hot rod for relatively cheap but it didn't come with AC, cupholders, fancy upholstery or dashes. Just everything you needed to go fast and nothing you didn't.

Kudos to PJ for coming up with this idea and Stuart for the execution. Brilliant bass.

Well-put. I concur.

QFT (quoted for truth, I just learned this on the interwebs)

Well, here are some pics in this link...unfortunately a school bill just came in so I need to move the bass....bleh....which sucks b/c I really dig the look and the way it plays. I am assuming this is a Classic based on the bolt on neck?

I don't think it's a 'Classic', just a regular Legend. 'Classics' have the two soap bar pickups.

She's a beauty!!

+1, stunning!

I've got some catching up to do here with the thread. I've been rehearsing for all states jazz band for the past 3 days. Actually, we just sound checked and the DI wasn't working. Luckily I needed my electric for one tune, and I just happened to have my MXR DI (formerly Donny's) with me- really saved the day! :bassist: hopefully ill have some video for you guys!

Happy Easter All!

I made a quick video this evening with my Spalt

I just ran it through my Zoom B3 with one of its rhythm tracks clean with no effects into my Zoom Q3HD video recorder and it sounds pretty darn good. Using DR Sunbeams 40-100 :bassist:

I love this Bass :hyper:

Thank you! Just a quick vid with a lot of mistakes but its fun and that's all that matters :D :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Waiting on a little pyle 2 channel mixer to show up in the mail so I can do some cover song videos with some backing tracks. I find that running audio straight into that little Zoom Q3hd video recorder works really well and the Spector makes it sound so much better.

Your tone & playing on that video are top-notch, and I love the headstock camera view!
:bassist:

Glad you are loving the Spalt - I'm sure it was worth every minute of the wait.

Thanks :D I'm going to try to make a new headstock camera mount that sticks out a little farther as someone suggested to try to get more of the bass body in view. It does add quite a bit more weight to the neck/headstock though with the mount and camera on it as is...2-3 minutes of playing that way standing up gets tiring quick..lol
