I think that bass does win the award for best quilted solid maple Euro.

I have seen some amazing flame maple Euros but never a solid wing quilt that is "that quilted" :bassist:

That is EMG BTS Circuit.
Not sure what strings you use but Pro Steels IMHO match really well with that Pre in a Solid maple Euro.

Thanks for all the compliments, gents. :bassist: She is luscious and makes a good pairing with my Forte (comparable yet distinctly different with the BTS pre.) I need to do a full setup and cleaning today. Sam, that's a good recommendation on those ProSteels. I will either grab some of them or possibly some CircleK's at bunk's recommendation.

Here's my half-assed attempt at some real pictures:

Great looking pair...Beautiful Green!! Congrats :bassist:

Thanks! How do I tell if it is a custom or classic? Which is more desirable? It plays very nice...I just have a little more tweaking.

Welcome Mr. Phresident! :D

If I remember correctly, the classics are bolt-on and customs are set neck. The early 4 string Classics were bolt on, PJ pickup config with the 3 band Tone Pump Jr. wired Vol, Vol, Mid, Bass/Treble stack.

I owned one of the earlier Legend Classic 4's with a the PJ config and the TonePump Jr. It was my main gigging bass thru college! For the price (especially used) they are unbeatable...wish I still had it!

Haha.

I will post some pics tomorrow and maybe we can figure it out.

Yup, the tube quilt definitely adds to the order time. Mine took about 10 months, but was worth it!!

Yeah, I'm sure that's the reason that even though the website stated a 4-6 month wait, I was told it would be 8 months. Oh well. Getting the exact wood and stain that I wanted is one of the reasons I went with the USA bass. Getting to the point in life where I feel I deserve a "to die for" bass. ;) Looks like you got yours and that's a good thing!

Oh, I did!

I was given a set of stainless rounds by Aurora Strings in a blue that Quintin Berry thought would match the Blue Dream.

Here it is on my work bench as I was setting it up.

I like. Haven't had any time to really play it. But the strings LOOK good on it. :D

Patrick, please give us a review of these strings. The bass looks great (to put it mildly) but you know how picky we all are about the strings we use and the "sound" they give us. They are more expensive than the DR High Beams I'm using, but a recommendation from you and I'll pick up a set to try. :bassist:

Two things:

The Classic models are bolt-on neck and have four nobs, none should be stacked.

The Custom models are set-neck (there will be no neck bolts on the back of the neck in the body) and there will be one stacked knob.

In the last few years of production the Classics were always built with black hardware. The Customs had gold. But the Bubinga topped classics sometimes had gold hardware. It was like an upgrade feature with that special top.

Jeff!

Nice avatar, BTW. :bassist:

I'm going to try and sit down with my basses this weekend and really give them a thorough work out. And I'll listen for the tone of the new strings. I expect them to be punchier... since I'm going from nickel to stainless. We'll see.

But I will give you a review, for what that's worth! :D

I'll look forward to it. SS is all I use. Can't get my tone from nickel.

As for the avatar... I know a good bass when I steal it. :hiding:

PS - Check out the wall paper I made above. ;)
