they both set up with low action but the Brooklyn is super thin, think geddy lee jazz or ibanez sound gear. the Czech is a good bit more beefy.

I talked to Todd yesterday, he's such a nice guy and is always a pleasure to talk to BTW, and he said it is going to be shipped on Mon!!
I can't wait to finally get to spend some time with it!
It's an NS-X, they only made about 107 of them back in the early days, it was basically a Ned Steinberger experiment, back before he invented the headless bass under his own company. I got it cheap because its been abused and beat to hell.

How friendly are Stuart and company to walk in visitors? And will bringing my NS-JH5 with me increase my chances of not getting kicked out?

seriously though. good question. some shops are ok with tours. some not so much. I also wonder about this.
They are can't have people (public) in the workshop for insurance purposes.

The best way to go about doing something like a visit to the front office is to check with PJ Rubal ([email protected]) and see what he says.
I don't think it would be good to just show up. Not because Stuart and crew are not friendly, but because they are always really busy and depending on what is going on it puts everyone in an odd place. They don't want to be rude but may be in the middle of some important work and not want the distraction. Like if Stuart and Jimmy are in the middle of staining basses. Not a good time to drop what they are doing.

A few years ago I had a Lakland Bob Glaub come thru my hands.
I'm not a Fender style guy, but the passive pup in this thing was the best P pickup I've ever heard!
I've never forgot about it.
Turns out the pup was one of Laklands own that they had developed and started to put in their basses.
I'm thinking if the P is that good, how bad could their J be?!?

The pups in my Skyline JO are amazing too. Hmmmm. Has anyone here ever wired their Spector to be passive?
I also had a crazy idea of putting a Pope preamp in there. Has anyone tried this?
