So question ... What pick ups go well with the 18 v HAZ?

I installed a 18v Haz into Swampy, back when I owned that bass. It's has the standard EMG P/Js you would find in any euro or NS2.

Sounded awesome. Much cleaner than a 9v haz, but with a similar eq stack.

That particular preamp was a SSD era 18v haz, but from what I've been told the ssd era 18vs are nearly identical to the current 18vs.

The pots may not be the ideal value but I have done this on a Legend X and the sound was incredibly punchy.

...The humbucker dual coil HZs have a noticable drop in output with the 18v HAZ, IME. While I know there have been rave reviews regarding the EMG GZR pickups with the 9v circuit, I think the impedence mismatch is really apparent with HZs and the 18v, ymmv.

Duff makes clone pre's of the MM's
I actually have 2 of the last MM pre's made (possibly THE last two), leftover in a parts bin when they stopped making them! They are missing a couple components, clearly hastily tossed together, someday I'm going to install the missing bits and use them (one is missing a couple resistors and a cap, the other is missing those and the volume pot)

They started the neck last week and yes it'll have the 1.5 nut and DWish neck profile.

My legend classic 5 just arrived! Sounds really funky and punchy, although I have only tried it thru my AC1 into headphones at the office. Dunno why there is so much hate for the SSD and tonepump jr. Got some very useable tones just playing it for 5 mins.

Now I'm in a dilemma. My EMG 40dc and 40p5 with BTS is here, but I not sure what difference I can expect from upgrading the stock electronics.

Understand that theres a no pics = no bass rule here, so I'll be taking some pics tonight!

I am very frustrated right now. I had a buyer for my Rebop here On TB only to have him make an offer, drop his offer by $50. Then I agree to drop it by $25 to get it sold because there is the perfect used euro out there for my refinish project. Only to have him want an even better deal to include the case. Then, send another message 30 seconds later saying he has decided to just decline to buy altogether. Just needed to vent.

I had this happen to me about a month ago with my Coda 5. Buyer here on TB said he wanted to buy it, made me an offer about $75 less than my asking price, and after I accepted the offer and provided my PayPal info he vanished. I asked a few days later if he was still buying the bass, and he said, and I quote "I think no"!

I don't think it's strictly enforced here, we just like to ogle at each other's awesome basses.

I have put some Labella black tape wounds on it now.
They sound great and look really cool with the rest of the black hardware..
Have to make some new pics!
