Nice collection! How are the Villex pickups in your NS bolt on? I remember when Stuart was using them in the basses for a short time but I never got the chance to play a USA bass with them.
I really like the Villex so far, but the wiring in the bass is not stock, and the Villex mid control was removed before I got it. I can get many different sounds, from a p-bass bark to a rounder jazz tone, to some that I really can't classify. I have contacted Villex for a schematic but have not heard back yet. Todd has one of these, and said he can take pictures of the cavity for me some time.

I'm curious as to whether Villex is still in business, I was just looking at the website and it looks like it hasn't seen any content updates in a long time, and the contact email is an AOL account.

I didn't realize you had a new band; what happened to the band you were in?
I love being able to go between the NS-4 and the NS-4CR; it's great to have those options to choose from!

What happened? Same thing that ends up killing all bands sooner or later - the inability to coordinate rehearsal schedules....:D

Just kidding... Actually, the drummer went through a rather nasty divorce (is there any other kind?) & bowed out, & then the lead guitarist got married to a gal with 3 young kids, 2 of them having special needs, so his available leisure time shrank a whole bunch.
My singer/rhythm guitarist & I found a great drummer on CL, and never replaced the 2nd guitarist, so it's a 3-piece original metal band now, and I'm using my Moog Taurus pedals quite a bit more now to help fill things out. My bass lines have gotten busier as a result, and I'm enjoying the challenge of keeping it tasty & supportive, yet more upfront as well. We've been woodshedding for almost a year, and are (more than) ready to take it out of the garage & into the clubs.
My NS-4 is still my numero uno, but like you, it's great to have multiple Spector options to choose from. :bassist:

Very limited but there was one there, the only thing any of us could have reasonably done for you was play the ones you would have been interested in for a possible lefty build of your own...sorry if this sounds direct but I think it would be the only option in this type of situation unless maybe PJ, Todd, or someone at the hang knew of some lefty basses that could have been delivered to the event!
Oah I fully understand, small market we are and for such high end stuff, its not just going to be sitting around

Nice! Glad to hear you were able to turn a bad situation into a new project!

This NS2 bass was at the Spector Hang and it had a one of a kind finish: Can you tell me what the finish is called? Who is the owner of this bass (you might be able to zoom in on the card to find out...lol)? Also...isn't it amazing how the body color pops out in the inlays of these basses?

So I got an email from PJ on Friday; I've been on the waiting list for a US 9v Haz for a bit and they have one in stock I can buy. Money is kinda tight atm, so I might have to pass, but I'd feel terrible just telling him "sorry can't right now".

If anyone else in the club is looking to buy a new Haz 9v for the $499.99 sticker price, please let me know. If I have to pass I really would prefer to let him know I have someone else lined up to buy it.

Don't feel too bad. I'm sure he has a long list and the next one on it will snap it up.

Nice preamp, but not worth that to me....
