Oh, does the bass you have use the newer Gotoh GB707's?

The Euro4LX I purchased new in 2016 used them, and most of the newer ones have them instead of the Schaller M4's. The button and post are different than the Gotoh GB7's. I know it has caused a bunch of confusion as to what part to buy. Hipshot doesn't offer a prebuilt GB707 though if you wanted to send your tuner off to them they would build one for you. Since the difference in post and key was going to bother me, I ended up replacing the tuners with Hipshot Ultralites and an HE6Y in 3/8" to match. The differences would have driven my OCD crazy. If you already bought the GB7 drop tuner, you could swap the key and deal with the post differences, or replace the other 3 tuners with regular Gotoh GB7's.
I respect the OCD, as I am the same way! The other tuners are very solid, I just want the detuner. Luckily, the hardware is black, so I don't believe that it would be as obvious to anyone but me. HE6Y that is what i needed. That is the 3/8 xtender i was looking for. Thank you. The GB7 was ordered off of amazon prime, so I just returned it. I found the HE6Y on basstringsonline.com so i just ordered it.
Keep in mind the HE6Y is the Hipshot Ultralite matching tuner, and has an open gear in the back.

Big difference in price, but not concerned with that money not the issue, can't see anything in the specs that suggest any difference in the two models apart from the aquilars, does anybody know something I don't, is this first one worth 400 more is is it the same bass with different pickups or is there more to it.

The Legend neckthru has been fetching a higher street price since they came out that's all. I've been noticing that. Just like the difference in a USA NS neckthru and USA bolt-on...the neckthru is substantially higher in price. And Euros are the same way as well.
See it now, so I essentially the difference is about £200 if you consider the upgraded pick ups. Plus the bass is reduced, more get go for that. Cheers
How do the bolt-on's play in comparison to the earlier neck-thru's? Mine was the only bass I've owned that literally had no dead spots. This 78 like most Fenders has a dead spot at the 7th fret on the g string. I hear they are caused by a round truss rod sitting in a u shaped square channel.
I lean towards the neck-thru design, but I've had several bolt on Legend basses, and a Rebop. I currently have a 2004 Legend 4 and a 2014 (?) Legend 5 Classic. I've had good experience with the bolt on basses. They are well built, play well, and sound good for the money.
Yes that's about right. Here in USA the Legend neckthru go for as much as $1100-1400...Have not seen any lower. The Aguilar pickups is a good upgrade and good improvement over the SSD branded pickups. EMG active pickups would be even better.
The bolt-on Legends play great. They have more bark and bite to their tone compared to the neckthru model. The neckthru will give you a longer sustain of course and a smoother tone overall. I've not had any Legends with a dead spot...nor any Spector that I've own. And I've owned over 2 dozen of them. Both bolt-on and neckthru.
Looks like I will have a NBD at some point this week... been playing my 5 a lot and I really wanted another one as a backup/2nd bass. Ended up spending more than I originally planned to, but I have a feeling it will have been worth it.
array just seen a bolt on with EMG Pickups. priced in between. straight toss up now between NT with aguilars or bolt o with EMG. EMG one £270 less than NT.
You can get the GB7s from Warmoth for $11.50 - $14.50 each. I'm buying a set to put on my Timbre today, actually. They are great tuners.

I've been a busy guy...
sold our house in Portland, OR moved to Woodland, Wa - 12 miles from civilization on 5 acres. Moved our house pretty much by myself as far as ALL the heavy stuff goes. I'm still moving stuff from storage and working 65 hours a week....
