Bass #2 of the day is the elusive Great White Buffalo........White Euro 435 with Aguilar PJ pickups and an OBP3 pre. So far, it sounds super thick in the mix.

Here’s my Spector trio and hoping it’ll be my last photo with “John Snow” my White Euro-5JJ...
(Anyone notice an oddity in the background? Clue...it’s very unusual for Northern Michigan area.;) )

As collected...

This is Iris, I pulled my NS2A out from under the bed and found that it was still in tune and started to investigate the Spector brand seeing pictures of this bass as it was heading to the 2013 NAMM show.
Scarlet clean up.JPG

The following month I planned a trip to meet Todd Cooke at the guitar house of Tulsa and I had my eye on this one as I thought I had lost the opportunity of purchasing Iris at one point, he had a lot of basses from his collection for me to enjoy as we spoke and he wanted to do a quick setup on Iris for me which left me alone with the tone machine...Scarlet is her name and one month after Iris I collected my second NS2!
Celest clean up.JPG

Todd and I spoke about putting together a couple of Coda P basses and along came this surprise! From the 2014 NAMM show and according to Todd this is the first Coda P to be completed as his wound up spending a little more time in finishing. Named her Celeste!
Sable clean up.JPG

I joined the Spector club and met a lot of cool friends, started to think that it would be nice to find a place that everyone could meet which had to be big enough so we could bring our collections to allow each other the opportunities of reviewing options. I asked Todd if he thought that the guitar house of Tulsa was the place and he signed up as deep down he is a true collector. I was starting to explore the fretless at that time and was surprised that PJ sent in an available NS4, it had the unlined neck which scared me at first but I couldn't resist....Sable came home after the first Spector Hang held in 2014.
Forte5 new.JPG

It took a lot of effort putting together the first Spector Hang and my schedule was up in the air after accepting a new position in Kansas City, excitement rolled in with more wanting to get together so we started making plans for the second Spector Hang! My first method of keeping track of everyone wasn't working as we increased in having a lot of guys selecting another hotel or driving in for the day especially after getting the word that not only would PJ be there but Stuart was also attending. On this day the 2015 Spector Hang basses had been presented with all options allowed so I had my chance of putting together Azure.

Happy First Friday!

Happy FF!
My latest acquisition is sitting in a sort facility in Ill. Should get the call soon to pay the US duty on it. I expect to get it next week.

That is such a beautiful bass... do you really have to pay duty on it though? I was always under the assumption that you pay duty on stuff built outside of the country, while this was technically built within the US.

Technically yes, but the current US administration is being hostile towards trade with Canada (even private sales) that I'm told I will have to pay. It's been in Hodgkins Illinois for over 24 hours now. I assume it's with customs.
